This is solemn time of the year and "Deepavali" or "Diwali" is around the corner as is the year end.

As you might be aware, many families find it a struggle to support their children's education as tuition fees have risen over the years due to inflationary trends.

Keen to specialise in Japanese sector

We come across Students every year who have the keeness, intellect and the aptitude to take up our courses. However coming as they do from economically disadvantaged families, they are sometimes unable to even raise educational loans through banks. Nihongo Bashi assists wherever possible by providing teaching assitantship or free books or reduced fees as possible forms of scholarship.

Request for support

Our PG Diploma in Japanese Management course has students with good academic credentials but struggling to pay for their college tuition fee. Philanthrophic readers and organisations are requested to come forward to support the cause of such students. An email expressing your interest, regardless of the amount, would be a welcome first step. You can send this to pgdip@nihongobashi.com

Best wishes to all our readers on the joyous occasion of Deepavali.

Greetings!

Greetings of the festive season and a warm welcome to the third quarterly newsletter for 2008. These are tough times for many of our customers in the IT industry as well for students who are seeking jobs. At Nihongo Bashi we hope and pray that the worst is over and it's time for glad tidings.

With the approaching exam time - A special note of "good luck" to all students of AJP & AAJP AY 2007-08 batches across India.

Our last academic season ended and our students have acquitted themselves with flying colours. Nationally over 98% of the students cleared the exit tests and joined the companies which had made them conditional offers.

We look forward to renewing our ties with Japan and to the exciting start of the Academic year AY 2008-09.

As usual any comments would be highly appreciated. You can send them to info@nihongobashi.com

Cross Cultural Workshops - Doing Business with Japan

Japanese people are progressive & mordern yet they retain their culture

Today there are many jobs available but not enough talented people and this means that organisations have to invest in strategic training and education initiatives.

Deploying a successful executive from one part of the world to Japan is always a challenge. These challenges can be overcome by sensitising the relocating employee to diversity issues such as office business culture, selling, negotiating, gender stereotypes, travelling within Japan amongst other major issues

Not surprisingly, as Japan and India move closer to each other we are seeing an increasingly demand for such workshops. Typically delivered in a "one day" format, students learn about similarity & differences between Japan and India and allay their fears about working with the Japanese. Students' generally concluded that managerial skills coupled with excellent knowledge of business practices in the Japanese sector was the key to achieving this success.

One clients was so impressed that they decided to sponsor a "Doing business in India" for their Japanese clients! Smart marketing. This was to help the Japanese understand the Indian mind and business practices.

Japanese MBA piques student interest in Rural India

As the admissions for PG Diploma in Japanese Management started this year, we were taken aback that > 60% of the students came from rural background. Many of our students are extremely intelligent and academically well qualified. However their lack of confidence in English always seems to be a handicap during campus interviews. However with an MBA program which stresses more on spoken Japanese skill than on English skills restore parity and allows them to leapfrog peers. I guess one more reason to take up the Japanese MBA course.

Placements season - 100% promise delivered

Successful students in these tests go on to join their respective sponsoring organisations. At the same time there a few that have to look elsewhere for jobs. This year, surpassing our expectations, ~ 99% of our students took up jobs with companies that had extended them conditional job offers. Teachers' and students were both relieved when this was announced. To companies, thank you for your support and to the students "Gambatte".
